Fleur Renkema (she/her) is a PhD researcher working on the project 鈥�Kaleidoscopic Archives: A Cultural and Intersectional History of the Gay and Lesbian Left in the Netherlands in the 1970s and 1980s.鈥� Her research focuses on the gay and lesbian left in the Netherlands, a formation of activists who combined sexual politics with left-wing politics to construct counter-hegemonies. Drawing on her framework of queer cultural materialism, she examines how cultural practices鈥攕uch as film festivals, bookstores, music, and publishing鈥攆unctioned as political acts and sites of solidarity. Her work highlights the multidimensional character of the gay and lesbian left, paying particular attention to questions of anti-capitalism, feminism, anti-racism, and transnational solidarity.
