I'm a glaciologist with a keen interest in understanding glacier and ice sheet dynamics and simulating past, present and future ice masses. My focus is on ice ocean interaction and calving behaviours of marine and lake-terminating glaciers, using satellite remote sensing techniques, field-based observations, and numerical modelling. I'm also investigating the dynamics of lake-terminating glaciers and the creation of proglacial lakes, assessing potential risks for downstream areas, especially related to glacial lake outburst floods.
My research interests also include pathways to sustainability, particularly by positively impacting the transition to a sustainable society in the remote areas where I travel for work. I am the founding director of a charitable organisation active in and .
