Femke Borst is a PhD candidate at the department of Education, faculty of Social Sciences, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. She obtained her Bachelor Sociology at 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam in 2021. Whereafter she completed the Research Master Child Development & Education in 2023 also at 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam.
In her PhD-project Mind the Gap about equal educational opportunities Femke investigates how teachers' differential practices in primary education may reinforce the achievement gap there is between children from different socioeconomic and ethnic family backgrounds, and how this affects children's motivation and engagement.
