My name is Elle Zwinkels (she/her) and I am a junior researcher within the project 鈥淕eefcultuur鈥� in the Department of Media and Culture Studies. Holding an MA in Gender Studies and an RMA in Media, Art and Performance Studies, my research interests include debates on normativity, affect studies, popular media and performance studies, sensory studies, and trans* feminisms. Nominated for the Humanities Thesis Award 2023, my prior research has initiated interactions between the fields of musical theater studies, trans* studies, voice studies, and Western feminist theory to examine the position of trans* musical performers.
Next to research, I work as an assistant for the IOS platform for Open Cities and the research group [urban interfaces].
