I am a PhD candidate at the department of Physical Geography working on the changing channel networks in rivers and estuaries. Rivers and estuaries are important natural landscapes of great importance for civilization and agriculture throughout the world, as well as hosting unique and vulnerable ecosystems. I am focusing on the analysis and prediction of the complex behavior of channel systems in rivers and estuaries. For this purpose, I have created a large experimental dataset of several hundreds of thousands of simulated tidal cycles within the Metronome in the Earth Simulation Laboratory. To improve our laboratory workflows, I have developed data processing methods involving SfM photogrammetry, computer graphics algebra, and machine learning. See for an overview the .
