Emma Kopeinigg MA

PhD Candidate
Ethiek Instituut

I am a PhD candidate at the Ethics Institute of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and a member of the ESDiT research consortium (Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies). I specialize in research centrally related to ageing, including the philosophy of death and dying, hope, and meaning in life. In my approach I combine the insights of contemporary (biomedical) ethics, moral psychology, phenomenology, and comparative non-western philosophies. After attaining the BA at the 木瓜福利影视 of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, and the RMA Philosophy at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, I have started as a PhD candidate under the supervision of dr. Chris Wareham, dr. Marcel Verweij, and dr. Naomi Jacobs in the fall of 2024. My current research examines the disruption of ageing considering new and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on researching the conceptual cluster of personhood, meaning, and vulnerability.
