I am an assistant professor with expertise in clinical (MSc) and developmental (PhD) psychology. I work at the Youth and Family Section, within the framework of the Sector Plan 鈥淩esilience in Youth鈥. My research lies at the intersection of developmental, clinical, personality, and social psychology: I study how nonnormative psychological characteristics and beliefs (e.g., narcissism, science rejection, conspiracy beliefs) serve adolescents' adaptive goals for social status (feeling respected by others) and inclusion (feeling connected with others). As I am especially interested in the way status and inclusion needs can foster or hinder adolescents鈥 potential to individually flourish and contribute to society, I currently lead two related research lines:
1) Investigating psychological facilitators and barriers of pro-environmental engagement in adolescence within the framework of the GREENTEENS project.
2) Investigating societal and psychological antecedents and the socialization of distrust in science in adolescence.
To obtain a well-rounded understanding of the topics I investigate, I utilize diverse research designs (cross-sectional, experimental, longitudinal).
