Devita is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Governance at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. Her research project aims to shed light on the possible ways in perceptions of law can help explain why people engage in terrorism. By interviewing convicted terrorists in Indonesian prisons, Devita explores the role of perceived unfairness, legitimacy of democracy and the rule of law in (de)radicalization. In particular, she is investigating how these perceptions are relevant in explaining terrorists' acceptance of and withdrawal from violent ideology.
