David van Doorn obtained a bachelor degree in animal husbandry from the School for Higher Agricultural Education (Delft, 1998). In 2000, he obtained a master degree in Animal Science from Wageningen 木瓜福利影视 and Research Centre (WUR). In 2001 he started working part time for a private equine feed & supplement company. In 2001 he started also his PhD-project entitled 鈥淓quine phosphorus absorption and excretion鈥 at the Nutrition Department of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 (NL). After his PhD defense in 2003 he continued working in the equine nutrition business until 2013. In 2013 he started his own consultancy (Equivado/Anivado). David is also responsible for the organization of the 鈥淓uropean Equine Health & Nutrition Congress. Since 2010, David is an (part-time) assistant professor in equine nutrition at the Nutrition Department of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 (UU), part of the Centre of Animal Nutrition (WUR). David has also been involved in projects of the Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 Library related to the preservation of the equine veterinary patrimony. David鈥檚 current research interest includes macro mineral absorption, digestibility markers nutraceuticals but his future work within the Centre of Animal Nutrition will focus on "Feeding strategies for gastro intestinal health".
