Cornélie Westermann is a veterinarian and is Dutch and European Specialist/ Diplomate on Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM). Her PhD research was on equine muscle metabolism and atypical myopathy.

- Clinical work: Department of Equine Sciences: Internal Medicine: patient care, clinical teaching within this patient care
- Management: Director of Education Veterinary School
- Teaching: Bachelor and Master in all (Equine) subjects, but mostly Equine Master students
- Research: Respiratory Diseases, Muscle Diseases, Education

EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine
The ‘European Board of Veterinary Specialisation’ ( is responsible for the training, examination, and accreditation of veterinary specialists in Europe. An EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist has completed a three-year postgraduate program followed by an examination after studying Veterinary Medicine. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine employs EBVS specialists from various fields. Additionally, the faculty is a recognized training institute for various specializations. This is how we contribute to high-quality patient care.
