PhD candidate with the Economic and Social History research group. My PhD research focuses on family firms and gender equality in the Netherlands (1870-1970) and is part of the SCOOP (Sustainble Cooperation) research programme. I investigate women's labour opportunities and access to capital in family firms, navigating the challenges and opportunities of the historical context. In my studies, I encounter widows managing businesses, children being (or not being) prepared for succession, brothers and sisters sharing the family capital, spouses working together on the work floor, and more pieces of information reflecting the diversity of family firm entrepreneurship.
