Anne-Sophie Halbertsma started her PhD in Entrepreneurship at the Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ School of Economics (USE) in 2022. Her dissertation topic is employee ownership and she is especially interested in its long-term regional effects. Her research draws from the employee ownership and entrepreneurial ecosystems literature. In addition, Halbertsma is a lecturer for several bachelor and master courses.
Halbertsma's background is in economic geography and urban policy, particularly considering local economic development issues through the lens of entrepreneurship. She has a double master's degree in Urban Policy from the London School of Economics (LSE) and Sciences Po, Paris. She obtained her bachelor degree from ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ College Utrecht (UCU). Before starting her PhD, Halbertsma worked for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy on startup and scaleup policy.
