Adriaan teaches English as a foreign language in secondary education and obtained a teachers grant from the NWO in 2022 to conduct doctoral research in combination with his continuing educational tasks.
Adriaan's research is a reaction to his frustrations with the laborious process of educational development in schools. His studies, therefore, aim to better the understand and improve this process. With the help of the frameworks of Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) and the Change Laboratory intervention method, Adriaan initiates and analyzes change processes in school.
