Floor Haalboom is a historian of science and medicine specialised in the modern environmental history of animals, livestock farming, veterinary medicine, zoonoses and One Health. As part-time assistant professor at the Center for Sustainable Animal Stewardship at the UU Veterinary Faculty, Haalboom coordinates and teaches environmental history, history of veterinary medicine, animals, and human-animal relations, and interdisciplinary planetary health education. She is a member of the Descartes Centre for the History and Philosophy of the Sciences and the Humanities, and Network for Environmental Humanities at the UU. She is finalizing the Dutch Research Council-funded Veni-project ‘What does your meat eat? A global environmental history of Dutch livestock feed (1954-2020)’ in the summer of 2025, conducted at the .
