Annemarie Drahmann is full professor at the Insititute of Jurisprudence, Constitutional and Administrative Law. She specialises in general administrative law with a specific focus on transparency in government.
Annemarie has conducted research into government transparency since 2011. Annemarie conducts research on the right to access public information. Following the entry into force of the Dutch Open Government Act (Woo) on 1 May 2022, Annemarie has written several publications, including a preliminary report for the Administrative Law Association (VAR), an article-by-article commentary (Tekst en Commentaar) and several comparative law studies.
In addition, she conducts research into the transparent and equal allocation of limited licences and subsidies: how can limited rights be periodically distributed through a transparent procedure that offers equal opportunities to entrepreneurs while remaining feasible for all parties involved?
Annemarie Drahmann studied law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2004 with a master鈥檚 degree in constitutional and administrative law and criminology (cum laude). In 2015, she obtained her PhD with a dissertation on the transparent and equal allocation of limited licences and subsidies. Until August 2018, Annemarie worked as a lawyer specialising in administrative law at law firm Stibbe. From August 2018, Annemarie has worked fulltime in academia鈥攆irst at Leiden 木瓜福利影视, and since September 2025 at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. She still applies her practical experience by explicitly considering social relevance and applicability in society in her research.
Besides conducting research, Annemarie also teaches courses in the bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree programmes. She also regularly gives lectures and teaches courses.
