Head of Aquatic Ecology at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW).  I am appointed as a Special Professor of Aquatic Ecosystem Dynamics in the Faculties of Science and Geosciences for one day per week. 

My research investigates how global environmental change affects aquatic ecosystems by integrating palaeolimnology and aquatic ecology approaches.
