I am a postdoctoral researcher with a background in structural geology. My research interests focus on the fundamental understanding of tectonic evolution and the dynamics of orogens and sedimentary basins. This includes studying mechanisms of strain partitioning during large-scale processes such as oroclinal bending and indentation, as well as the basin formation in various tectonic settings and associated tectonically controlled sediment deposition. To couple deformation in the Earth's crust with processes occurring deeper in the lithosphere or at the Earth's surface, I combine field structural analysis, seismic interpretations of subsurface and analogue modelling approaches. My current postdoc project aims at developing an analogue modelling approach to study tectonically controlled river evolution and delta deposition.
