Dr. Liping Dai is an assisstant professor at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law. She defended her PhD thesis “Transition in China’s Water Resources Management” in Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 in 2015. She currently is doing comparative research between the Netherlands and China in the field of water governance and Nature-based Solutions, where she focuses on contextual factors and governance structures which influence water governance regime. Since 2015, she has been a visiting lecturer at Wuhan 木瓜福利影视, Xiamen 木瓜福利影视, and Sun Yat-sen 木瓜福利影视. She has carried out some interdisciplinary projects on water governance, such as “Governance for Urban Resilience—Sponge City Project in China” funded by KNAW, and “China's socialist rule of law in water governance” Funded by Instituties of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, “Preventing and controlling land subsidence in Shanghai–towards more integrated and effective land use and groundwater governance in the Yangtze Delta” funded by Future Deltas of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, and the “Climate Adaptation Project” jointly established with Sweco, Province of Utrecht and the water board Stichtse Rijnlanden. She acts as a peer reviewer for a number of international scientific journals and has a good publication record.
