Before coming to Utrecht, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the the Institute for Asian and African Studies of the Humboldt ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Berlin and a visiting researcher at the History Workshop of the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of the Witwatersrand. My first book, , which was published in the War and Militarism in African History series of Ohio ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Press, examines the history of Black soldiers from Namibia and Angola who fought in apartheid South Africa’s security forces during the Cold War. My research has also been published in the Journal of Southern African Studies, the South African Historical Journal, the International History Review, Cold War History, and The Journal of African History.
