Krisztina Varró is Assistant Professor in Spatial Planning. She holds an MSc degree from the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Pécs (Hungary), a postgraduate degree in project management in urban planning (DESS) from the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Tours and a PhD (cum laude) from Radboud ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Nijmegen. Prior to coming to Utrecht she held positions at the Centre for Regional Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Radboud ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ.

Krisztina has widely published on the politics of urban and regional development policy in the European and, more specifically, postsocialist (Hungarian) context, and on (discourses) of smart city building and governance.

Currently, her research focuses on diversifying planning history through a feminist lens, the multi-scalar politics of the caring city and the implementation of gender-sensitive urban planning.
