Ik ben een PhD studen aan het IMAU sinds April 2023. Ik doe een project als onderdeel van het Paris-horizon project. Dit project heeft als doen om de kennis te vergroten naar componenten die het milieu beïnvloeden. Mijn specifieke onderzoek gaat over methaan in de lucht. Op vele plekken in Europa wordt al de methaan concentratie gemeten, maar in mijn onderzoek gaan wij ook op zoek naar de mogelijke veroorzakers van dit methaan. Dit kan door het meten van de isotopen van methaan.

I am a PhD student at the IMAU, with a project that is part of the Paris project. My reasearch focussing on methane Isotopes at European sites. For this I conduct 6-month projects where I measure the methane isotopes in the air. This system works by focussing the methane and sending the concentrated methane to an IRMS. Here it measures the ??13C and ??D values. These values will indicate what the sources of methane are, while this is not possible with concentrations measurements.
