I’m a Postdoctoral researcher in the Virtual Human Platform for Safety Assessment (VHP4Safety) project. In this project, I’m working on user research through a practice theory perspective, and I aim to link this work to the sociology of chemical risk assessment and studies of innovation for sustainability transitions. My previous research, during my PhD, has been on topics related to the understanding and shaping of the circular economy, informed by science and technology studies perspectives, and translating it to the discourse and trajectory of design studies–which is my main disciplinary background. My interest is in the relations between science, technology, and society, especially in the impact of science and technology on how social life is imagined and enacted –what things get made, why things get made, and how things get made. I’m originally from Costa Rica, but most of my recent work and studies have been conducted in Europe.
