Eva Midden is Associate Professor in Gender Studies and Director of Education (Masters) at the Department of Media and Culture Studies. She has a master's degree in Political Science from the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Leiden (Netherlands) and a PhD in Philosophy (ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom). Her thesis is entitled:  'Feminism in Multicultural Societies. An Analysis of Dutch Multicultural and Postsecular Developments and their Implications for Feminist Debates’. 
Midden is a member of the core team of the IOS Platform Gender, Diversity and Global Justice, at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ and is senior researcher in the Horizon Project RE-WIRING (on girls' and women's inclusion, representation and empowerment). She is also a board member of the international organisation for Gender Studies research RINGS.
Midden's current research focuses on gender, love and (non-)monogamy. She is working on a book about women and (in)fidelity. Her general research interests include feminist theory, intersectionality, (post)secular(ism), nationalism, whiteness and media analysis.
