Nina Vabab is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Media and Culture Studies and at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Institute for Cultural Inquiry. Her work critically examines the audio-visual dimensions of cultural memory, exploring how media function as both text and visual medium to shape narratives. Her current project interrogates the instrumentalization of Pahlavi-era memories, revealing the complex interplay between personal memories and the narratives produced by movies and reports.

Previously, Nina earned an MA in Global Media and Post-national Communication: Theoretical & Contemporary Issues from SOAS ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of London, where the UK government awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship (September 2015 – September 2016).
