Kees de Jager viert dit jaar zijn 100e rondje om de zon. Hij maakte wereldfaam met zijn zonne-onderzoek en zette het ruimteonderzoek in Nederland op.

Kees de Jager is celebrating his 100th orbit around the sun. He earned international acclaim with his solar research, and laid the foundations for space research in the Netherlands.

Martinus (Tini) Veltman is op 4 januari 2021 overleden. Veltman was van 1966 tot 1981 hoogleraar aan de Universiteit Utrecht en ontving de Nobelprijs voor de Natuurkunde

Martinus Veltman passed away on 4 January 2021. Veltman was a Professor at Utrecht ľ�ϸ���Ӱ�� from 1966 to 1981 and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1999.

The only other locations in the Netherlands to have earned the honour are the Kamerlingh Onnes Laboratory in Leiden and the NatLab in Eindhoven.

Tijdens de Opening van het Academisch Jaar op maandag 6 september zijn de winnaars van de studentenprijzen 2021 bekendgemaakt door Margot van der Starre, vice-voorzitter van het college van bestuur de Universiteit.
