RiverCare

The research programme RiverCare studies the consequences of recent interventions on the river system in the Netherlands, which aimed at reducing floods while improving conditions for biodiversity and navigation. The knowledge will be used to cut maintenance costs and better design future river management interventions.

In this research programme, researchers from Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 work on the development of novel techniques to monitor floodplain vegetation with more detailed land-use maps and a toolbox to facilitate decision making on adaptation measures. Taking into account the overview of cost and benefits and the number of stakeholders involved, this toolbox can be used for stakeholder discussions.

Output

In this project, researchers from Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 have delivered novel techniques to monitor floodplain vegetation and water temperature of river channels and prototype toolbox to estimate and get a quick overview of the multiple benefits and related costs of flood reduction interventions.
