Dr. Pavel Sinitcyn
Pavel Sinitcyn is an Assistant Professor of Computational Mass Spectrometry at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, with dual affiliations in the Department of Information and Computing, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He obtained his PhD while working at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry and later became a postdoctoral fellow at the 木瓜福利影视 of Wisconsin鈥揗adison, funded by the Morgridge Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellowship.
His work focuses on developing computational tools for identifying and quantifying proteins and post-translational modifications, enabling the interpretation of complex proteomics data. His group integrates experimental and computational expertise, including bioinformatics and machine learning. With a strong emphasis on practical biological applications, he actively supports numerous collaborations both on campus and internationally.
Aren't proteins the most complex, versatile and exciting building blocks of life?
Pavel Sinitcyn has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2025.
