Dr. Jung-Chin Chang
Dr. Jung-Chin Chang is assistant professor at Division CMC (Cell Biology, Metabolism, and Cancer), Department Biomolecular Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Trained as a medical doctor in Taiwan, he witnessed how children and adults with liver diseases suffer from intractable itch, chronic fatigue, depression, and liver cancers. In 2012, he moved with his family to the Netherlands for his scientific training in experimental hepatology, biochemistry, and metabolism. His research aims to understand cell-cell interactions in metabolic and cholestatic liver diseases and to identify novel therapeutic targets. To achieve this aim, he designs a state-of-the-art multicellular co-culture system to model healthy and diseased liver microenvironments.
Jung-Chin Chang has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2025.
