Contestations of futures in former Yugoslavia
The research explores how people conceive, engage with and act upon futures and how those dynamics intersect with production of the 鈥渆veryday state鈥. In particular, the research is looking at how such conjunctions ethnographically play out in specific post-industrial urban environments across former Yugoslavia, currently mainly in Serbia and Croatia. By looking at various fields of political, social and economic contestations, from everyday lives with risks and political economies of mining companies to social disputes around public utilities and urban infrastructures, the research explores post-socialist transformations within the global landscapes of capitalism.
