The doctor and philosopher Galen of Pergamum (129-c.213 CE) may count as the father of western medicine, whose influence dominated European medical history until well into the 19th century. This project aims to explore Galen鈥檚 theory of human nature from a variety of relevant aspects: physiological, psychological, moral, philosophical and religious.

Thinking Classified 鈥 Structuring the World of Ideas around 1800

We classify philosophy and sciences by using big labels, such as 鈥榬ealism鈥, 鈥榠dealism鈥 or 鈥榚mpiricism鈥.
