Recording memories: An electrophysiological analysis of birdsong learning
Songbirds learn their songs from their father, very much like human infants learn to speak. Storing the memory of the father鈥檚 song involves brain regions that are similar to the part of the human brain that deals with speech recognition. This project combines knowledge of birdsong learning with state-of-the art techniques to record the activity of neurons in these brain regions, to investigate the neural organization of memory in songbirds.
