Wetland Restoration

Wetlands provide 40% of the renewable ecosystem services, despite their global cover of only 6%. However, wetlands are being degraded which endangers the performance of ecosystem services. Climate change processes might further exacerbate their degradation. We analyse undisturbed, degraded and restored wetlands. Our studies enable us to better understand wetland processes and how they function and to design measures and policies to restore them.
