Mitzy Kennis
鈥淎s an enthusiastic PhD in neuroimaging, I am intrigued by individual differences in experiencing and processing traumatic experiences. In particular, studying direct effects of treatment on the brain to disentangle treatment mechanisms fascinates me. Furthermore, I am generally interested in the neurobiology of mood and anxiety disorders. Investigating the overlap and distinction between these disorders can provide new information, which may lead to better treatment in the future. My goal is to contribute to research that will lead to developing better strategies to improve coping with negative life events.鈥
Mitzy obtained her PhD degree at the military mental healthcare and university medical center Utrecht on the neural correlates of posttraumatic stress disorder and trauma-focused therapy.
