The Greeks and the mystery of existence

Who are we? This fundamental question is all around us. The first answers to it were defined by Greek thinkers. In his new book Creature di un sol giorno. I greci e il mistero dell'esistenza, Prof. Mauro Bonazzi () shows how these thoughts are still relevant today.

Long ago, humans had four legs, four arms, and two faces. Because of their pride, they were punished by the gods, separated into two halves. This caused them to suffer, fear death, and always look for their other half. Some of the greatest Greek writers have thought about this incompleteness and how fix it. Bonazzi interprets their ideas with the help of philosophy and tries to answer the ancient question "Where is our sense of existence hidden?". His work shows that, even today, Greek philosophy can help us understand how to live well.
