Wim shares how he worked with students and staff within the Veterinary Medicine Green Team on practical sustainability measures — from energy optimization to reducing waste streams in the labs.

Joep Sprangers, biologist and Coordinator of Sustainable Laboratories at UMC Utrecht, recently completed his PhD on pancreatic cancer research. Alongside his scientific work, he is committed to more sustainable lab practices, including through initiatives like Green Labs NL. Joep explains how small adjustments — such as raising freezer temperatures — can quickly have a significant impact.
