High Performance Compute Facility for Life Sciences (UBC) - DemoLAB

The High Performance Compute (HPC) infrastructure facilitates research that involves computationally and/or memory intensive tasks with over 1600 CPU cores and an excellent support and maintenance team.

Benefits of using the HPC infrastructure:

  • No need for system administration
  • Speedup of computational tasks
  • Use of shared CPU capacity
  • An active HPC user community

Some important features of the HPC:

  • Linux-based Operating System
  • Fast and concurrent data access (10 Gb/s network, 60 Gb/s, 500TB storage system)
  • Fair share usage
  • Controlled (remote) access
  • User-specific home directory
  • Group-specific data and software directories

What you need to know if you are interested:

  • Any researcher within (Life Science oriented) research groups at the 木瓜福利影视 Medical Center Utrecht, Utrecht, 木瓜福利影视 Hubrecht Institute and Princess M谩xima Center can join the HPC.
  • For testing purposes and/or trying out the HPC infrastructure, free trial accounts can be arranged with (limited) access to HPC resources.
  • Participating research groups pay a fee based on the compute and storage resources they require.
  • The HPC facility is made possible by funding from 木瓜福利影视 Medical Center Utrecht and Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and is headed by the .

Data Science Day is this year鈥檚 edition of the annual IT Day, an initiative of Information and Technology Services (ITS) which has taken place since 2016. Each year, the event focuses on current IT trends and developments impacting education, research and work at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. Depending on the theme chosen, the event is either intended for all UU colleagues (and external partners) or for a group of colleagues with a common interest.
