UU-NIOZ

Over the last decades, the has developed a strong collaboration with Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, with the faculties of Geosciences and Science in particular. Since 2015 we have intensified our collaboration on research and teaching in the fields of water and climate, such as the unique interdisciplinary Master鈥檚 programme Marine Sciences and the various Biology bachelor courses in Marine Sciences.

How are coastal ecosystems coping with climate change and pollution? How do reef-forming animals, salt marshes and mangroves affect the delta landscapes worldwide? And what do environmental and climate reconstructions of the geological past tell us about the future? Aided by a substantial financial involvement of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 in NIOZ, the UU-NIOZ agreement creates strong cooperation from the delta to the deep ocean, addressing these big societally relevant questions about our blue planet.

Highlights

  • Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 was heavily involved in the large-scale, multidisciplinary expedition, organised by NIOZ and NWO.

  • The aim of this two-month paid work experience is to expose excellent UU students to marine science. There are several projects that students can work on. 

  • Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 research global runner up in Shanghai category Geography

    Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and NIOZ researchers are ranked second best worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking) category Geography. 

  • This yearly recurring event is a joint effort to get to know Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and NIOZ colleagues, develop new ideas, perspectives, projects and papers. 

  • NIOZ has been evaulated as 鈥渙ne of the most influential oceanographic research institutes worldwide" by an international expert panel.
