TrafVic: Research on the psychosocial consequences of traffic accidents

Verkeer

The main aim of this research is to broaden the knowledge on the psychosocial consequences of being involved in a traffic accident. A traffic accident can have lasting consequences for a person鈥檚 mental state and can have a great impact on someone鈥檚 life. Each person deals with this situation in a unique way. More insight into the psychological and social consequences of traffic accidents can help form advice for both traffic accident survivors and social workers. These insights could be useful in dealing with a traffic accident and the aftermath thereof. The ultimate goal is to relieve psychological complaints after a traffic accident.

If you have any questions you can contact dr. Lyanne Reitsma via L.Reitsma@uu.nl.

Experiencing psychological problems after an accident? We can help!

After a traffic accident, some people develop post-traumatic stress or other psychological symptoms.
We (Lyanne Reitsma, Paul Boelen and our partners) have developed an online support programme to help reduce these symptoms.
