Willem Janssen presents at Nordic Public Procurement Forum 2019
On October 20th 2019, dr. Willem Janssen presented his research into legal obligations for sustainable public procurement at the 14th edition of the in Copenhagen.
In his presentation, he discussed whether it is feasible to move from a legal system of possibilities to legal obligations for public authorities to procure sustainable outcomes. If so, the question arises how to construe such obligations. More specifically, Janssen discussed the potential role for courts and economic operators in such a changed system. The conference was attended by approximately 150 practicioners and academics from, amongst others, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Germany and the Baltic States.
Parts of the content will be published soon in Dutch in Tijdschrift Aanbestedingsrecht, after which an English expanded version will follow.
