UU responds to cabinet call: education as much as possible online and events with more than 100 people suspended
Education and exams at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 will not take place on Friday 13 March. This day will be used to see which education can be offered digitally from Monday. Face-to-face classes (on campus) are cancelled untill 31 March. Events and meetings with more than 100 people will be cancelled. The university is thus responding to the government's call to higher education to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The developments surrounding the coronavirus at home and abroad are progressing quickly. The UU wants to keep the risks of spread as small as possible; concurrently, we feel a great responsibility to safeguard the continuity of education and research for our students and staff as much as possible. Thursday afternoon, the Cabinet announced that it is calling on universities to suspend large meetings and to only offer education through distance learning until 31 March. Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 wants to respond to this call.
Digital education
Face-to-face classes (on campus) are cancelled untill 31 March. We are making every effort to offer education digitally as much as possible as of next Monday, March 16. Many lecturers already use knowledge clips in their teaching. In order to be able to offer lectures scheduled online from Monday, where possible, extra provisions will be made and manuals will be made available. On Friday, March 13, education and exams will expire. Further information to students and staff will follow.
Events cancelled
Events with more than 100 visitors will be cancelled until 31 March. This includes the Dies celebration in the Domkerk on Thursday 26 March, the "Dies Dialogue", the 木瓜福利影视 Day for alumni on Saturday 28 March and "Meet the Professor" on 25 March.
Work from home when possible
In the event of illness, students and staff are requested to stay at home. Pursuant to the Cabinet's guidelines, we ask our employees who can work from home to do this as much as possible in consultation with their manager. The university buildings will remain open. Internal meetings and work meetings with up to 100 people and research activities that cannot be performed at home (for example in laboratories) can continue.
