Enforcement from the beginning of January

As of 1 January, the UU site is legally required to be smoke-free and the government will enforce it. The UU and HU will also be enforcing the grounds in accordance with the legal obligation.

In December, the current smoking facilities will be removed and signs and tiles with "smoke-free grounds" will be placed there. From January onwards there will be enforcers on the UU grounds. They will only be used for smoking policy, not for enforcement of the corona measures.  The smoke-free area covers the city centre, ICU and the Utrecht Science Park. The UU, partners in the USP and the Municipality of Utrecht are investigating whether a completely smoke-free USP can be realised.
