Utrecht Challenging Extremism Project designs campaign against violent extremism
Since 1 February a team of 21 students of Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ participates in the international project ‘Peer 2 Peer: Challenging Extremism’. Extremists use social media frequently and effectively to spread their ideas. Twenty universities from the USA and 25 universities from Europe, Northern Africa and Asia take up the challenge to develop social media campaigns against violent extremism.
Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ is the only participant from the Netherlands. The Utrecht students are supervised by Dr (Department of History and Art History). The six teams with the best campaigns will get the opportunity to present their ideas in Washington in June.
From now on the Utrecht project group can be followed from day to day on their new website, which includes a blog.
