Update weather code orange: buildings will close after 12.45 p.m.

Update 18 February, 10:54 a.m.:

Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ, like several other educational institutions, has decided to close all its buildings from 12.45 p.m. We want to give all our employees the opportunity to travel home safely. Also the colleagues from Security and the Facilities Service Centre.

-------

The KNMI (the Dutch meteorological institute) issued a ‘code orange’ weather alarm for tomorrow (Friday 18 February), starting at 14.00 hours, due to a heavy storm. From that time on, there will also be no trains running. Because of this, Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ has decided to cancel all lectures on location after 12.45 p.m. Students consult with their lecturer if they have to leave a lecture earlier, if they cannot get home by public transport otherwise. Lecturers will let their students know if and how the lectures scheduled for tomorrow afternoon can be caught up.

Students who are not able to come to the university and as a result miss lectures or tests can make an appeal to force majeure regulations at the Board of Examiners (administrative proof is not needed). If a teacher decides to have a lecture online tomorrow afternoon, he or she will inform the students.

The university advises employees to come to the university only when necessary and to work from home. Tomorrow it will be decided whether the buildings of Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ will close earlier, depending on KNMI reports.
