UPADS now officially recognized as focus area
We are happy to announce that following an evaluation round UPADS is now officially recognized as one of the eight focus areas of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 for the period of 2018-2022.
A summary of the appreciation by the Board of Directors:
"To date, the expertise in data science available at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and UMCU has been used relatively isolated and fragmented. Applied Data Science initiates a multidisciplinary systematic approach to the broad scope of data issues. One of the objectives of this new focus area is to enable researchers in the various data science disciplines to structurally share and strengthen each other's knowledge. In a relatively short preparation time, much has already been put on track and community formation is already well on its way. This has already translated into several project applications. Several large-scale research project applications are being prepared. The innovative prospect is that the work in this area will lead to new interdisciplinary research questions, which in turn will lead to the development of new data science methods."
