ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ College Guidance Network (UCGN) meeting held in Leiden

The national ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ College Guidance Network (UCGN) is a professional development and training platform for counsellors, psychologists, tutors and other guidance staff. On January 16th  the UCGN held its 22nd meeting, this time hosted at ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ College Leiden in The Hague.

The meeting gathered 24 guidance professionals from across eight different institutions for another lively, fruitful and educational session. The agenda covered ‘Neurodiversity: addressing the university/public discourse in neurodivergency and neurotypicality, and guiding students effectively in this context’, as well as ‘Special Provisions for Student in Exams and Classes: moving from a medical model to a social model?’.

The ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ College Guidance Network was established in 2014 with the aim to share experiences between guidance professionals working at the various university colleges in the Netherlands. The Network has grown over time into a platform for professional development and training, as well as a forum in which matters of shared interest between the guidance professionals can be addressed collaboratively. So far more than 150 guidance professionals have taken part in the collaboration, addressing topics such as tracking student's personal development, guiding students encountering mental health issues, building inclusive and successful communities and more.

The founder and chair of the UCGN is Mark Baldwin, who can be contacted with any questions/comments. For more information about UCGN please click the link below to the most recent Training & Development overview.
