Tips for getting your senior teaching qualification

Tips voor het halen van je seniorkwalificatie onderwijs

Working on your senior teaching qualification (STQ*)? Read all the tips for and by academics.

In the nineties, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 was the first university that introduced teaching qualifications alongside their research qualifications and linked these to career policies. The senior teaching qualification is intended for academics who want to function as a senior in education: they have a vision for the programme, work on programme quality and are involved in innovation on the curriculum level. At the UU you need a STQ if you want a position as a senior lecturer (UHD), and both senior qualifications if you want to become a professor.

Tips and tricks

Currently one in three academics at the UU have an STQ. Some of these academics have received guidance from Hetty Grunefeld (Educational Consultancy & Professional Development) and Irma Meijerman (CAT).

Irma and Hetty have compiled a list of tips to help along academics who want to work on their STQ. For instance: Where do I start? What are the criteria and how does the STQ differ from the UTQ? How do I start my portfolio? How do I write an educational vision?
