Tibbe Klein new student assessor Executive Board

As of the end of September 2025, Liberal Arts and Sciences student Tibbe Klein will be the new student assessor on the Executive Board of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. Klein succeeds Niels Vreeswijk, making him the fifth student assessor in the history of the Executive Board.

Tibbe Klein studies Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 majoring in Mathematics. In addition to his studies, he is active in the Utrecht Student Choir and Orchestra (USKO) and the Utrecht Student Alpine Club (USAC). He gained experience as a board member and in student representation as secretary of the USKO board in 2024-2025 and as a member of the LAS program committee from 2022-2023. He was also a member of the participation council in high school.

鈥淎 rich student life for everyone鈥

鈥淭hrough my studies, I have taken classes at many different programs and I am active in two associations,鈥 says Tibbe Klein. "This has made me very familiar with the diversity of students, teachers, teaching methods, and organizations that UU has to offer. As the new student assessor in the Executive Board, I want to work towards a rich student life for everyone, with high-quality education, but also with room for personal development, for example through a year on the board of a study or student organisation."

Strengthening connections

鈥淲e are very happy with Tibbe as our new student assessor, he is very enthusiastic and 鈥 just like the rest of the board 鈥 motivated to strengthen the connections within our community but also those with the outside world,鈥 says rector magnificus Wilco Hazeleger. "Because of his experience within UU and several associations, he has a good overview of our diverse community. We therefore expect Tibbe to be very capable of further strengthening the connections between the broad UU community and the Executive Board. My fellow administrators and I look forward to working together."

Focus on education and students

In his role as student assessor, Klein participates in various meetings relevant to university-wide policy development from the end of September onwards. For example the weekly meetings of the Executive Board, bilateral consultations with faculty boards and the consultations between the Executive Board and deans. The assessor has an advisory role, focusing on education- and student-related issues. To stay well informed and connected, he will therefore maintain close contact with students, including student assessors in the faculties (CvUA) and students in the 木瓜福利影视 Council and student organisations.

Advisory committee

Tibbe Klein was appointed on the recommendation of an advisory committee consisting of the two student representatives of the 木瓜福利影视 Council, a former student assessor of the Executive Board, a staff member of the Student & Academic Affairs Office, the administrative secretary of the Executive Board and the rector magnificus.
