The very first Utrecht Waterline Walking Tour

botu waterlinie wandeltocht

On Saturday 19 October 2019, you can join the very first Utrecht Waterlinie Walking Tour from the Botanic Gardens. A walking event along Dutch historical heritage and through the green waterline landscape. You will walk past the Utrecht forts of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie (New Dutch Waterline), which has been nominated for UNESCO World Heritage.

One of the four routes, the Bunker Route, starts at the Botanic Gardens! From the Botanic Gardens you start early in the evening. In 15 kilometres you'll walk a nice round along the Fort bij Rijnauwen, the Fort bij Vechten, the Lunetten and the Fort Vossegat to finish at Fort Hoofddijk in the Botanic Gardens again. You will experience nature and the historical forts in the light and in the dark. The beautifully lit forts make the walking tour a unique experience. Moreover, there is plenty to experience and taste along the way.

Another route?

Do you want to walk more then 15 kilometres? Then there are 3 more routes from 20 up to 35 kilometres. These routes start and finish at the Jaarbeursplein near Utrecht Central Station.
