The properties of the Quark Gluon Plasma

Researchers from the Institute for Gravitational and Subatomic Physics and the Institute of Theoretical Physics have collaborated to construct a new computational framework called Trajectum (the name of the City of Utrecht in old Roman times) to simulate collisions of heavy-ions at nearly the speed of light.

They constructed a Gaussian Emulator for this 20-parameter model and obtained via a global fit the most complete set of constraints for the transport parameters of the Quark Gluon Plasma.
