I Art my Science

The events taking place these days are unprecedented. Every day we are deluged with mentions of quarantines, lockdowns and social distancing while trying to find workarounds to go about our days and affairs as best we can based on the current circumstances – undoubtably stressful times for all of us.

To counter all of this, the Graduate School of Life Sciences of Utrecht ľ�ϸ���Ӱ�� is happy to come to you with some positive and lighthearted news. We are proud to announce the launch of “I Art my Science” – a project that lies on the intersection of art and science.

We invite and encourage all members of the GSLS community (Master’s students, PhD candidates and other scientific staff) to utilize the time they are spending at home in a creative and fun way and to send us artwork that is inspired by and/or portrays aspects of their science/research. A selection process will follow after which a number of artworks will be used to update the visual identity of the GSLS through its websites and the creation of advertisement/promotional material and the project will culminate in an art exhibition that will be held at the beginning of the next academic year.

We hope you take this opportunity to leave aside the worries and inconveniences of these days and to (re-)appreciate the research you do and find the beauty in it.
